The mere fact you can see this message shows that the website is still here and the FW clan are still alive. We have been experiencing some major trouble and seems like everyone wants to fuck with us. From our host for the Black Ops servers to the domain name servers to possibly God.

What about the Blops servers? They’ll be up until the lease expires. The truth is that Gameservers cancelled our servers when we only wanted one server cancelled. They have reinstated the London server AND the Ventrilo server but the Atlanta server has indeed been turned off for good. It had been ordered out of sync with the other servers and the billing period was not the same. Why the London one? Well, it was the first and has been our best rated and populated according to Gametracker. If there were more in the clan and they all played Black Ops, then the decision may have been different but hey, shit happens, cookies crumble, cats get creamed upon.

What about the COD4 servers that no one uses? They’ll remain running along with the BFV server (this box we still have full access to) and to our knowledge has no problems. 

The website’s been a different matter entirely. We first thought it was an issue with the actual domain, fwclan.org, then we thought it was the DNS screwing up, we tried moving it to a new IP blah blah… Eventually, we have concurred (almost completely) that the National Routers in America (not a rock band name, an actual thing (www.internettrafficreport.com) have been out. This is the worst we’ve seen it since we can remember and Steel211 checks the report daily. If you can see this page, then it may only be for a while until the routers are mostly restored.

Until then, we have Ventrilo and the fwclan.org Facebook page  which I’d like to see more people “Like”-ing  and checking (and fucking even looking at) regularly.

As far as meetings and recruitment is concerned, we need your input on this. Is there a point in continuing when no one bothers? We think so. When I say no one, that’s not entirely true. Spare a thought for those who still play on the servers, still post in the forums. I single out one man from the 5 or 6 left, because I can. Mark (a.k.a. Targus) has had a lot on his schedule this past year or so. Building a new property for him and his family to raise Horses in his barn. He always finds the time to get on with me or Steel211 and just shoot the shit. He has donated hundreds of dollars to keep the servers running, to give back to the clan. It’s a shame that only a few remain to see it. For that I say, thanks, Mark, and sorry. Sorry that we are dwindling, sorry that we haven’t done enough to remain strong. Mark, we have $75 left in the pot which we intend on returning to you. When the London server’s time’s up (March 5th) we will be turning that off, too.  Thanks too, to Steve, Liam and Trevor who remain checking forums, playing on the servers and checking in and out of vent but do we want to grow? There are still Free to Play games we can get involved in. Maybe it’s the thought of cost of games or computer equipment powerful enough to cope with new engines and graphics? Maybe people just don’t have enough time to game anymore…? What is it?

I leave that to you all to decide…is it just better to admit when it’s time up?
